STCW95/2010 Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting

The STCW 95 Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting course deals with the necessary precautions to minimize the risk of fires aboard ship, how fires are caused and the first means of extinguishing them.

The course includes practical training in the use of fire fighting equipment and the use of breathing apparatus for fire fighting and rescue.

This course is an essntial module within the STCW95/2010 Basic Safety Training requirement, and if you are new into the industry you will need to take this course as part of the STCW Basic Safety Training course. 

The FPFF course covers the following:

Minimising the risk of fire
Maintaining a state of readiness to respond to emergency situations involving fire
Fighting and extinguishing a fire
Shipboard fire-fighting organisation
Location of fire-fighting appliances and emergency escape routes
The elements of fire and explosion (the fire triangle)
Types and sources of ignition
Flammable material, fire hazards and spread of fire
Fire and smoke detection and automatic alarm systems
Classification of fire and applicable extinguishing agents

The course is held at our purpose built training facility at Cromhall Quarry, Cromhall, South Gloucestershire, GL12 8AA

Certification validity: 5 years

Certification: Upon successful completion you will receive a certificate in STCW-95 Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting approved by the Maritime Coastguard Agency as laid down in STCW 95 Regulation VI/1 paragraph 2.1.2 of Section A-VI/1 of the STCW Code
