Overview
The MCA STCW Proficiency in Medical First Aid is a 4 day course and is designed for seafearers to provide advanced first aid onboard ship. The course meets the mandatory requirements of MCA.
On successful completion the candidate will receive the STCW Proficiency in Medical First Aid Certificate.
Course that run are subject to numbers. All available as block bookings.
Entry requirements
Minimum entry requirements
- Must hold a current STCW elementary first aid certificate.
- You must be at least 16 years old.
What you study
- Scene management.
- Assessment of casualty.
- Resuscitation.
- Casuses and management of asphyxia.
- Use of oxygen.
- Wounds, bleeding, burns and clinical shock.
- Eye injuries.
- Fractures, sprains and strains.
- Spinal injuries.
- Medical emergancies.
- Poisoning.
On successful completion the candidate will receive the STCW Proficiency in Medical First Aid Certificate.
