The MCA Master 200 is a progression from RYA Yachtmaster Offshore/Ocean qualification and is needed to work on crew transfer vessels where it is required to have MCA STCW qualification. The qualification allows Masters to take charge of a vessel up to 200gt.

The Master 200 Certificate of Competence (CoC) can be limited or unlimited. Limited allows operation of up to 150 nm from a Safe Haven and Unlimited allows worldwide use.

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 18;
• You must have completed 6 months’ seagoing service while holding an RYA Yachtmaster Offshore or IYT Master of Yachts Limited certificate;
• Hold a valid ENG1 Medical,
• RYA/MCA Yachtmaster Offshore Certificate of Competence (Commercial Endorsed);
• RYA/MCA Yachtmaster Coastal/Offshore Shorebased Certificate;
• Basic Safety Training Modules – Fire Fighting and Fire Prevention, PSSR, Elementary First Aid and Personal Survival Techniques;
• A GMDSS Restricted Operator’s Certificate (ROC);
• HELM Operational Certificate (Human Element Leadership & Management).

Additional requirements for Master 200 Unlimited:

• RYA/MCA Yachtmaster Ocean Certificate of Competence (Commercial Endorsed);
• RYA/MCA Yachtmaster Ocean Shorebased Certificate;
• A GMDSS General Operators Certificate (GOC).
