Yacht Claims Handler – Permanent – Monaco (Hybrid) – €50k plus bonus & benefits

This is an excellent opportunity to join a global yacht management company based in Monaco. After probation, the expectation is 2 days in the MC office per week so you must live in MC or in commutable distance on the French or Italian border.

This could suit someone with crew / yachting experience who understands their way around a yacht, yacht politics and relationship dynamics. You don’t necessarily have to have prior experience in Claims or Insurance although the company will put you through and qualifications you might need.

Responsibilities include:

• You will primarily focus on crew claims, taking a high-level approach to assist crew emergencies, claims of sensitivity and priority, or large claims being processed. These involve medical, hull & P&I Claims
• On the complex crew medical claims, you will ensure both the crew medical provider, and P&I liability provider are aware of the claim and the Owners’ interests are protected
• You will set up a contact procedure which will embrace personal and virtual touch points.
• You will use your connections to sell crew medical cover to new clients and to cross sell, hull & machinery and P&I insurance to grow the business and introduce new clients.
• Through regular contact with the crew, you need to develop strong and trusting relationships with the crew
• You will systematically and regularly talk to the crew using the phone, Microsoft Teams, WhatsApp. All the IT at your disposal to strengthen relationships with crew who are insured through the Crew Plan
• Part of your role will be educating on how to make a claim, and firefighting difficult or complex claims.

Experience Required:

• Previous experience on board yachts (highly desirable)
• Excellent level of written and spoken English and numeracy (Additional languages skills in French or Italian are a plus)
• A self starter with independent drive to work
• Great networking skills
• Personable and able to generate strong relationships
• Familiarity with the dynamics of a crew mess
• A proven ability to use Microsoft Office products to intermediate level
• Excellent communication and diplomacy skills, are able to communicate effectively at all levels (dealing with Owners, Captains and Colleagues)
• Experience of docks, shipyards and negotiating security clearance to gain access to crew and Captains etc (Desirable)
