Position Title: Stage & Production Manager (PROD)

Overview:

The Stage & Production Manager (PROD) is responsible for managing all technical aspects of entertainment across the ship’s venues. This includes overseeing the technical operations, maintenance, and artistic integrity of entertainment performances. The PROD coordinates technical staff, ensures safety compliance, manages inventory and finances, and supports production activities, including rehearsals, performances, and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:

  1. Production Management & Coordination:
  2. Maintain the technical and artistic integrity of produced entertainment.
  3. Oversee rehearsals, performances, and technical preparations.
  4. Operate stage automation consoles and call cues during performances.
  5. Supervise technical staff, ensuring smooth performance and production operations.
  6. Maintenance & Repairs:
  7. Ensure the maintenance and repair of all technical equipment in assigned entertainment venues.
  8. Conduct regular inspections of all rigging systems and equipment.
  9. Coordinate repairs and report issues with the Technical Director or Cruise Director.
  10. Finance & Inventory:
  11. Understand and manage the entertainment budget.
  12. Maintain inventory of supplies and manage orders via company systems.
  13. Ensure technical spare parts are available onboard and coordinate larger equipment purchases with shoreside support.
  14. Staffing & Development:
  15. Manage staffing levels and ensure cross-training for positions within the entertainment venues.
  16. Provide training to staff and address performance issues with assistance from the Technical Director or Cruise Director.
  17. Administrative Tasks:
  18. Handle communication with technical teams, and respond to important emails.
  19. Maintain accurate records for all entertainment show documentation (e.g., cue sheets, stage plots).
  20. Ensure safety procedures are followed and all relevant handover notes are updated and shared.
  21. Guest & Talent Interaction:
  22. Assist with Headline Entertainer show coordination and backstage support.
  23. Meet and greet performers, assisting with logistics and transport as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of stage management experience in large-scale productions (e.g., Broadway, Vegas-style).
  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Theatre, Stage Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of technical aspects such as sound, lighting, rigging, and automation.
  • Experience in managing theatrical productions and staff development.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of entertainment technology, safety standards, and financial management.
  • Ability to motivate, develop, and manage international staff.
  • Ability to adapt to changing production needs and troubleshoot technical challenges.

Physical, Vision & Hearing Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Full use of arms, legs, and sensory abilities to participate in emergency procedures and assist with equipment.
  • Must meet company medical evaluation standards.

Language Requirements:

  • Fluent in English (both spoken and written) to communicate instructions and interpret technical procedures.
