Position Title: Entertainment Operator – Fly
Overview:
The Entertainment Operator – Fly is responsible for the operation and maintenance of performer flying equipment in the main theatre and alternative entertainment venues. This includes managing fly sequences, conducting equipment inspections, attending performances and rehearsals, and ensuring safety standards for the performer flying systems. Additionally, they assist the Stage & Production Manager/Technical Director with various tasks, including stage setup and coordination for Headline Entertainer shows.
Key Responsibilities:

Performance and Equipment Management:
-
Operate and maintain performer flying equipment for cast shows.
-
Call flying cues during shows and ensure safety standards.

Participate in aerial rehearsals, training, and stage resets.

Monitor equipment to ensure only approved aerial moves are performed.

Production Support:

Assist with stage setup, ensuring the theatre is clean and organized.

Liaise with the Stage & Production Manager for improving production quality.

Ensure Headline Entertainer shows run smoothly and support backstage tasks as needed.

Safety and Standards:
-
Adhere to safety and quality standards set by Celebrity Cruises and industry guidelines.

Maintain equipment and follow the daily schedule for rehearsals, events, and performances.

Guest Interaction:

Provide assistance to guests if needed and maintain professional interactions.

Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Theatre or related field, or equivalent experience.
-
Minimum 4 years of experience in entertainment or theatrical technology, including stagehand, rigging, and performer flying.

Extensive knowledge of entertainment rigging systems, motorized hoists, and performer flying systems.

Basic knowledge of sound equipment and computer systems (Windows and Mac).

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, diverse environment.
Physical Requirements:
-
Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changes quickly.
-
Previous experience on cruise ships or touring is an asset.
