Career Development Officer – Permanent – Glasgow – Competitive package

This position is responsible for career development management deck officers. Effectively manage a “hire to retire” process with key milestone dates for officers (promotion, study leave and performance).

You will also, ensure a pipeline of competent personnel are promoted and developed in accordance with the requirements of the fleet.

Responsibilities include:
* Provide mentorship, guidance and direction to help the officers reach their full potential.
* Maintain and monitor records of appraisals, recommendations, rank time and promotion status to provide a pipeline of promotable officers.
* Actively engage with seafarers through calls, conferences, ship and training centre visits.
* Attend foreign conferences as directed by line manager.
* Drive improvements in seafarer appraisal standards and provide feedback to appraisers.
* Provide officer promotion projections to management and Marine HR to ensure the fleet meets officer manpower requirements.
* Schedule promotion interviews for officers.
* Manage the onshore development programme and act as the direct reporting line for those attending the programme.
* Integrate newly qualified cadets into the officer pool.

Experience Required:
* Excellent organisation skills and ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
* Ability to engage with junior and senior officers regarding career development.
* Ability to work under pressure of deadlines.
* Fully proficient in Microsoft Applications.
* Excellent communication skills, comfortable engaging with a diverse work force.
* Familiar with industry regulations and operation of LNG or Tankers preferred
* Seagoing experience is highly desirable (any vessel background) or experience in the RN also considered.
* or human resource/Crewing/training experience.
