I am looking for Stage & Productions to join a well-known cruise line.

The Stage and Production Manager is responsible for managing, operating, and maintaining all entertainment and entertainment technical disciplines of their assigned entertainment venue, and any auxiliary venues around the ship where Sound & Light equipment is installed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Creates show reports for all shows/events in alternative entertainment venues to be included in Stage & Production Manager EOV report. Inputs feedback and notes on Entertainment Staff to the Technical Director to be included in the EOV. · Liaise with the Stage & Production Manager, Cast Captains (Theatre & Eden), and Activity Manager on creating rehearsal and show schedules for all produced events in the alternative entertainment venues. · Attend and lead all key – A ‘Drivers, Produced Events and any event the Cruise Director is hosting in the alternative entertainment venues as scheduled by the Stage & Production Manager. · Responsible for all rehearsals, technical rehearsals, set-ups and strikes in the alternative entertainment venues; ensuring everyone is present on time and that all those involved have everything they need to have a successful rehearsal. The VPM will be the primary voice in the room that keeps everyone on task and aware of changes or updates. · Responsible for the supervision and performance management of the Entertainment Staff and Operators while running venue events and activities. Will converse with the Technical Director and advise input for performance appraisals and disciplinary actions for Entertainment Staff and Operators. · Communicate clearly with the Technical Director and the head office any issues, problems, concerns that may arise in daily operations. · Responsible for the correct cueing of all shows in alternative entertainment venues.
· Ensures music and lighting in all venues is aesthetically pleasing and appropriate by carrying out regular ship wide walks in addition to the AV on duty walks. · Ensures all band sets look and sound great, start on time, are clean and do not have overused equipment. · Oversees (with Fly Operator and Technical Director) use of aerial systems in alternative entertainment venues ensuring only produced/approved material is utilized. · Liaise with Production Cast and AV team to ensure props and equipment are set up/struck at appropriate times in the entertainment venues. · Responsible for coordinating with ship-wide department managers and supervisors to fulfill logistical needs of key A ‘Driver events in the alternative entertainment venues. This includes but is not limited to arranging the moving of furniture/cushions, arranging satellite bars, removing pool covers, rearranging deck cleaning schedules, etc. · Liaise with the Technical Director on a regular basis to ensure technical equipment is being actively maintained in the alternative entertainment venues – create IssueTrax’s as required and assign maintenance and upkeep tasks to Entertainment Operators and Staff as necessary. · Respond to ATD and GRO comment cards regarding the production value (sound levels, lighting issues, etc.) as requested by the Cruise Director. · Assist the Entertainment/Cruise Programs department with key administrative tasks which should include:
o Creating and updating show reports (EOVs) for shows/events in alternative entertainment venues. o Work closely with the Technical Director to assist in creating appraisals for the Entertainment Staff and Operators that regularly work in the venues. o Input Production Cast performances and rehearsals into AffairWhere for alternative entertainment venues. o Update the Guest Log as needed for venue performance issues such as sound levels. o Liaise with local folkloric performance groups and artists who perform in the alternative entertainment venues, ensuring required equipment is available and rehearsal / show requirements are realized.
o Create Fleet Visitor requests for local folkloric performance groups and artists as required. o Work closely and communicate with the Technical Director to ensure all alternative entertainment venue equipment is in good working order – create IssueTrax’s as required. o Work closely and communicate with the Technical Director to ensure the Audio Visual and Entertainment team have the required resources to complete their jobs – create Crunch Time orders as required. o Updating OCIMS with safety observations as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

* Minimum 5 years show stage management experience in Broadway and/or Vegas style productions, or equivalent experience.
* Bachelors or Associates degree in Technical Theater or Stage Management preferred, and/or demonstrated equivalent experience.
* Relevant qualification in either Sound, Lights, Rigging and/or Automation.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

* Knowledge of music and dance as it pertains to theatrical performances.
* Well versed in various software applications applicable to entertainment technology.
* Demonstrated aptitude for the financial aspects of a theatrical operation.
* Knowledge of policies and practices involved in the human resources function including the:
▪ ability to motivate and develop international staff in a positive and productive manner.
▪ ability to handle interpersonal situations in a professional manner.
▪ ability to utilize and administer the disciplinary action process through coaching and counseling to improve performance.
* Maintaining knowledge of technological and software advancements in the entertainment industry.
