Hotel Superintendent – South Florida
The Hotel Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all hotel, open deck, and attractions maintenance needs, including inspections, repairs, certification requirements, modifications, and dry dockings of vessels. This role ensures consistent updates on reported hotel deficiencies, damages, and non-conformities to onboard and shoreside management.
Essential Functions:

  • Oversee hotel, open deck, and attractions maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, certification requirements, modifications, and dry dockings of vessels.
  • Monitor and manage maintenance, repairs, surveys, and certification requirements for hotel operations.
  • Collaborate with onboard and shoreside management to address hotel repairs, deficiencies, damages, and non-conformities with support from assigned project managers and field specialists.
  • Process service orders and requisitions for hotel-related issues, coordinating logistics for service providers.
  • Approve and verify requisitions for spare parts, services, consumables, and materials for assigned hotel accounts. Partner with the Purchasing Department for supplier evaluation and vendor proposals.
  • Manage the technical operations budget for hotel systems.

Qualifications:
Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Naval Architecture, Civil, Mechanical, and/or Marine Engineering, Deck Officer, or a related field.
  • Master’s Degree in the above fields is preferred.

Experience:

  • 8+ years in a related field.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, and Primavera.
  • Strong technical knowledge in naval architecture, civil, mechanical, and/or marine engineering.
  • Expertise in hotel system repairs and maintenance.
  • Budget management skills for overseeing technical budgets.
  • Excellent organizational skills for managing multiple activities simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration in a team-based environment.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to remain stationary at a desk and/or computer for extended periods.
  • Regular movement throughout facilities is required, including prolonged standing when necessary.

Travel:

  • Extensive travel, up to 50% ship-based.

Work Conditions:

  • Primarily in a climate-controlled office environment with minimal safety/health hazards.
  • Occasional exposure to varying climates during ship visits or operational tasks.

Work Arrangement:
This position is classified as “in-office” and requires employees to work from the client’s designated office in South Florida from Tuesday through Thursday, with remote work allowed on Mondays and Fridays. Some positions may require additional in-office days as determined by the department leader. Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area.
