Maritime Craft Services (Clyde) Ltd are owners and operators of workboats, providing support services for marine construction projects throughout the world. We have a modern fleet of vessels which work in offshore wind, dredging support and oil & gas projects. We are now looking for an experienced Crewing & HR Manager to join our shoreside team based at our Head Office in Fairlie.
The Crewing & HR Manager role will develop and apply best practice in crew management, development, and retention.
Key Accountabilities:
- Ensure full compliance with vessel safe manning requirements
- Daily operational management of crewing activities including scheduling, travel arrangements, contractual matters, performance management, visa requirements etc
- Manage and ensure compliance with maritime and employment laws and regulations
- Oversee management of seafarer certification compliance
- Provide excellent communication and support to seafarers
- Manage crew performance and development activities, including planning for succession
- Create a strategy for effective crew competence assurance and assessment
- Lead and manage Crewing department including managing Crew Coordinators and Administrator
- Manage recruitment and selection of crew
- Responsibility for management of disciplinary issues, ensuring adherence to Company disciplinary procedure
- Liaise with Commercial, Operations and Compliance departments to ensure seamless service for clients
Who we are looking for:
An experienced Crewing professional with good HR experience or an experienced HR professional who is keen to move to a more operational management role and willing / capable of gaining expert level knowledge of crew management. Ideally you will have experience of leading a small team.
Our vessels work 365 days a year around the world so some out of hours hour will be required. The role will involve some international business travel.
