With immediate effect, Sea-Eye e. V. is looking to fill a vacant position starting
February.

Electrician (M/W/D)
Sea-Eye e. V. is a civilian aid organization that was founded in 2015 to no longer stand by idly and watch the deaths in the Mediterranean Sea. With our rescue ship the SEA-EYE 4, we search for people in distress at sea on the world's deadliest migration route, fighting the daily loss of human life at sea.This is because we are convinced:

TASKS
• Installing, inspecting, repairing and replacing electrical components and wiring on board the vessel.
• Diagnosing and resolving issues in the vessel’s electrical systems.
• Responsible for the repair and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment on board the vessel e.g pumps and motors, radios, navigation systems & IT systems.
• Order electrical spares and consumables and keep up-to-date inventories. Ensure cleanliness and readiness of tools inside electrician’s workshop.
• Create documentation of any known changes or modifications done on onboard electrical equipment and adequate documentation and completion of ongoing ones.
• Ensure that all electrical systems and installations on the vessel comply with relevant maritime regulations and safety standards to maintain a safe working environment.
• Support the chief engineer during any external and internal audit, PSC, class surveys etc.
• Participate in all required trainings and safety drills & support the crew in operational tasks.

 

YOUR PROFILE
• Experience as an electrician on land, valid Basic Safety Training (STCW A-VI/1), valid Security Awareness (STCW A-VI/6-1), valid Medical Certificate for sea service OR
• Certificate Electro-Technical Rating 750kW or more (STCW-III/7) or Electro Technical Officer (STCW-III/6) & valid Certificate of Security Awareness (STCW A-VI/6-1) and Designated Security Duties (STCW A-VI/6-2) (issued within the last 5 years).
• Good English language skills.
• Flexibility and adaptability to an NGO working environment with volunteers & marine crew.
• Physically fit to work on-board the vessel.
