Marine Compliance Officer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated professional with a conscientious attitude, to join the Risk Safety and Compliance department in the role of Marine Compliance Officer.

This vacancy is to start early December 2022.

The successful candidate will have a dynamic approach and will be proactive in regulatory compliance throughout the organisation by promoting a Just Culture.

The role is critical in providing expert knowledge and oversight of the company’s statutory and regulatory responsibilities and the Safety Management System (SMS) as part of the company’s Integrated Management System (IMS).

The Marine Compliance Officer will also discharge the duties of the Designated Person (DP) and will ensure that these duties are adhered to at all times in accordance with the ISM Code.

This role is the linchpin of the effective implementation our Safety Management System as it provides a link between ship and shore and directly influences the development of the safety culture within the company.

Reporting to the Head of Safety and Compliance the successful candidate will be an excellent communicator and will be highly computer literate.

The role requires the candidate to have significant Seafaring experience and an expert knowledge of the ISM code. The Integrated Management System also incorporates the standard clauses of the ISO 9001:2015 AND 14001:2015 and the candidate should have a sound working knowledge of these standards.

A confident and flexible approach and the ability to work on personal initiative is very important but coaching and development will be offered.
